May 24 - Like Jesus
LIKE JESUS
2 Corinthians 3:18
There is something compelling about Jesus.
Crowds gathered around Him. People listened with delight. The broken, the sick, the skeptical, and even the religious were drawn to Him.
In The Gospel of Mark 12:37, “The large crowd listened to him with great delight.”
Mark 1:32-33: 32 That evening after sunset, many sick and demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. 33 The whole town gathered at the door to watch.
Luke 19:47-48″ 47 Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him. 48 Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
2 Corinthians 3:18: 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit— —makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
Eyes like Jesus
Jesus saw what others missed. In John 3:1, Nicodemus came to Jesus at night.
Nicodemus was:
· Educated
· Respected
· Religious
· A member of the ruling council
But beneath all of that, Jesus saw something deeper. Jesus saw a searching heart, a curious soul and a man longing for truth. Others saw a Pharisee. Jesus saw a man who needed salvation.
That is how Jesus sees people.
Jesus welcomes all.
· The Sick = Jesus welcomed the sick and demon-possessed (Mark 1:32-33)
· The Social Outcasts – In John 4, Jesus spoke to a Samaritan woman that society rejected. (John 4:9)
· The Skeptics – Even spies and critics were allowed to question Him. (Luke 20:21)
· The Sinners – Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners because He came to save them. (Mark 2:16-17)
Jesus never ignored truth, but He never stopped loving people.
Too often we see labels – addict, difficult, political, immoral – but Jesus sees souls.
Mouth like Jesus – Make them GLAD
When Nicodemus came with questions, Jesus did not avoid the truth. He said: “You must be born again.”
Jesus spoke clearly because eternity mattered. Jesus Spoke Truth That Gives Life. Jesus taught: the Kingdom of God is real, there is eternal life, salvation is necessary, no one enters heaven apart from spiritual rebirth.
In The Gospel of John 1:12–13: “To all who received him… he gave the right to become children of God.”
Being born again is not: religion, good works, family background, church attendance. It is receiving Christ by faith.
Our words should point people to Jesus. Use your mouth for:
· Gospel Story — Share the good news
· Life Testimony — Tell what Jesus has done in your life
· Ask for Prayer Requests — Care for people personally
· Deeds of God Recently — Talk about answered prayers and God’s faithfulness
Hands like Jesus
What will your hands for Jesus to make Him known?
Jesus did not only speak truth. He served people.
In The Gospel of Mark 10:45: “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Jesus touched lepers, fed crowds, washed feet, healed the hurting. His hands revealed the heart of God.
The Bronze Snake
Numbers 21:8-9: The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.
Jesus compared Himself to the bronze serpent in Book of Numbers 21. The Israelites were dying from snake bites, but whoever looked at the bronze serpent lived. In the same way, sin poisons humanity. Jesus was lifted up on the cross and whoever looks to Him in faith receives eternal life.
Feet Like Jesus.
Jesus came into the world with purpose. In John 3:17: “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
Jesus moved toward broken people. His feet carried good news. An Epistle to the Romans 10:15 says: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.”

Be Like Jesus so others will like Jesus.
First Epistle of John 1:8–9 reminds us: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us.”
At first, Nicodemus came secretly at night. Later, he defended Jesus publicly (John 7). he honored Jesus openly after the crucifixion (John 19)
That is transformation. When people truly encounter Jesus, they change.
The world does not need more religious performance. The world needs Christians who look like Jesus.
